uwm - Ultrix Window Manager
===========================

This is the Ultrix Window Manager ("uwm"), in its 1987
version taken from its last public FTP at MIT.

scope of work
-------------

All changes applied to its original source code will
only be to make it build and integrate in modern
Unix-like Operating Systems.

license
-------

Its license appears to be a variant of the inaccurate short "MIT", hereby
identified as "CMU Style" according to the Fedora Project
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Licensing:MIT#CMU_Style
It is one of the rare cases where the otherwise fuzzy "MIT" title for a
license makes sense, since Project Athena was a joint project of
MIT, Digital Equipment Corporation and IBM.

source code location and releases
---------------------------------

The source is currently maintained in a mercurial repository,
which can be found at

https://c.n0.is/

New releases of uwm will be released at

https://d.n0.is/pub/releases/uwm/

Original README
---------------

The original note in this file read:

WARNING

This window manager is no longer supported by MIT. It makes no effort to
comply with the ICCCM and can only manage a single screen at a time.
